Upon arrival at Chennai Railway Station or Airport, our representative will greet you and drive you to Kanchipuram, the former capital of the Pallava kings and an esteemed centre of education, where scholars once gathered to study Hinduism, Jainism, and Buddhism.
On arrival, check in to the hotel before visiting Kamakshi Amman Temple, dedicated to Goddess Kamakshi, an incarnation of Lalitha Maha Tripurasundari (Parvati). Continue to Varadharaja Perumal Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu and counted among the 108 Divya Desams. Visit Kailasanathar Temple, a 7th-century temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, built by Pallava king Narasimhavarman II (Rajasimha). Explore Ekambareswarar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and associated with the Pancha Bhoota (five elements), specifically Earth (Prithvi). Also, visit Kumarakottam Temple, dedicated to Lord Murugan.
Spend time shopping for Kanchipuram’s world-famous handwoven silk sarees before returning to the hotel for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Tiruvannamalai, a significant historical and spiritual site in Tamil Nadu. Visit Annamalaiyar Temple (Arulmigu Annamalaiyar Tirukoil), dedicated to Lord Shiva, worshipped here as Arunachalesvara or Annamalaiyar. Situated at the base of Annamalai Hills, this is one of India’s largest temples, featuring four towering gopurams. The Shiva Lingam here represents the Pancha Bhoota element of Fire (Agni), and Goddess Parvati is worshipped as Unnamalai Amman. This temple is associated with the Manipura Chakra, which governs the solar plexus.
Continue to Chidambaram, a temple town renowned for Thillai Nataraja Temple, which spans 40 acres. After checking in to the hotel, visit the temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva as Nataraja, the divine dancer. The temple also houses deities such as Shivakami Amman, Ganesh, Murugan, and Govindaraja Perumal (Vishnu). The Nataraja Temple is linked to the Pancha Bhoota element of Sky/Space (Akasha). After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Pondicherry (Puducherry), a popular destination for both national and international tourists. The city boasts a blend of French colonial charm, serene beaches, and spiritual retreats.
Visit Auroville Matrimandir (outer view), a meditation centre for silent concentration. The Matrimandir can be viewed from the Viewing Point in the Park of Unity, offering a stunning panoramic perspective. Check in to the hotel before continuing to Sri Aurobindo Ashram, one of India’s most renowned and wealthiest ashrams, drawing spiritual seekers from around the world.
Explore Arulmigu Manakula Vinayagar Temple, an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh. Visit Puducherry Museum, which houses an impressive collection of 81 Chola bronze sculptures, ranking among the largest Chola bronze collections (closed on Mondays and national holidays). Stroll through Bharathi Park, a beautifully landscaped park featuring a Greco-Roman arch, floral displays, and fountains.
Head to Promenade Beach, also known as Pondicherry Beach, which stretches from War Memorial to Dupleix Park along Goubert Avenue. Lastly, visit The Sacred Heart Basilica, a remarkable example of Gothic architecture. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Mahabalipuram (Mamallapuram), a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its 7th- and 8th-century Hindu Group of Monuments. Once an ancient port of the Pallava rulers, the town boasts remarkable rock-cut structures.
Visit Krishna Mandapam, the world’s largest cave-cut Hindu temple, adorned with intricate carvings of Lord Krishna, celestial beings, and human figures. See Arjuna’s Penance, a giant open-air rock relief dating back to the mid-7th century. Explore Cave Temples, a series of rock-cut temples from the same period. End the day with a visit to Pancha Rathas (Five Rathas), a collection of monolithic temples, each showcasing a distinct architectural style. Check in to the hotel for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and visit the Sculpture Museum, renowned for its elaborate collection of over 3,000 sculptures depicting Hindu deities and mythology. Continue to the 8th-century Mahabalipuram Seashore Temple, an outstanding example of Dravidian architecture.
Later, drive to Chennai, where you will be transferred to the airport or railway station for your return journey, taking home delightful memories of your trip.
