Welcome to Udaipur, the enchanting city founded in 1553 by Maharana Udai Singh II as the new capital of the Mewar Kingdom. Famously known as The City of Lakes and often referred to as the Venice of the East, Udaipur is surrounded by serene azure lakes and nestled within the lush green hills of the Aravallis.
Upon arrival at Udaipur Airport or Railway Station, proceed to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax or explore the city at your own pace. Overnight stay in Udaipur.
After breakfast, we begin our city tour of Udaipur. First, we visit the Maharana Pratap Smarak, located atop Moti Magri hill near Fateh Sagar Lake. This historic site is dedicated to the legendary Maharana Pratap Singh and his loyal horse, Chetak.
Next, we explore the grand City Palace, an architectural marvel and the largest royal palace complex in Rajasthan, beautifully situated on the banks of Lake Pichola. We also visit the Crystal Gallery, renowned for its rare and intricate crystal artefacts.
Later, enjoy a scenic boat ride (on direct payment basis) to Jag Mandir, a palace built on an island in Lake Pichola. Once a summer retreat and royal party venue, it offers splendid views and a glimpse into royal leisure.
In the evening, enjoy a captivating traditional music and dance performance at Bagore Ki Haveli. Overnight stay in Udaipur.
After breakfast, we set off on a day excursion to the majestic Chittorgarh Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a powerful symbol of Rajput valour and sacrifice.
Within the fort complex, visit the Ranakumbha Palace, the birthplace of Maharana Udai Singh, founder of Udaipur; the Meera Mandir, once home to the famous Bhakti poetess Meerabai; and the iconic Vijay Stambha, a towering victory monument commemorating Mewar’s triumph over Mahmud Khilji. Don’t miss Queen Padmini’s Palace, gracefully located amidst water bodies — historically noted as the place where Alauddin Khilji was permitted to see her reflection in a mirror.
